At Protective Chiropractic, we focus on the fundamental principle that BETTER structure of the spine can lead to BETTER function of the body. When your body structure isn’t a normal position, conditions and symptoms eventually appear. Many of the problems we see are typically the result of your body deviating or shifting from its normal alignment. In the majority of cases we see, symptoms are usually SECONDARY to the underlying structural cause.
Many times these secondary problems are being “patched up” with traditional therapies like anti-inflammatories, physical therapy, traditional chiropractic manipulation and other healthcare choices. However, by NOT improving and stabilizing the structure of your spine, most of these “fixes” are temporary short-term patches. Finding and addressing the cause of your structural problem is not an option; it MUST be done to achieve long lasting results. How do I get started?
“Nothing happens until something moves.” - Albert Einstein
Motion is life.
Movement is a vital nutrient to your body, just as much as water or oxygen.
It feeds the a part of the brain called the cerebellum, producing essential nutrient stimulation (called “proprioception”).
It’s also a foundational reason why chiropractors adjust the spine – to restore normal motion to joints, communication through nerves, and subsequently, coordination throughout your entire body.
When your spine is not moving adequately, it begins to decay and ultimately, becomes inflamed.
The spinal joints begin to send stress signals to the brain that can lead to stress hormones being released (not good, this accelerates aging, etc.).
This “motion “deficiency” results in a decrease in proprioceptive messages being sent to your brain.
This often leads to pain.
At Protective Chiropractic, our responsibility is to to look beneath the symptoms, and address what is causing your condition. To simply address the pain, is like cutting the heads off all the dandelions on your lawn, and hoping that the dandelions will never return. For some patients, that means a few weeks of adjustments – for more severe cases, it could mean months.
